GoPro Gorilla Style For Indie Film Makers
Looking good on a budget is never easy!
There is always a trade off. Being affordable with your equipment seems to always always look less than professional. What if you could have the proverbial cake and well at least nibble on it too? Well, with the Gopro Black and a few accessories you can look unique and your video will look like a million bucks too. Lets take a look at what I think would make a great affordable production package for beginning film makers.
The GoPro 4 Hero Black – $399
HERO4 Black takes Emmy® Award-winning GoPro performance to the next level with our best image quality yet, plus a 2x more powerful processor. The H4 delivers super slow motion at 240 frames per second. Incredible high-resolution 4K30 and 2.7K60 video combines with 1080p120 and 720p240 slow motion to enable stunning, immersive footage of you and your world. Protune™ settings for both photos and video unlock manual control of Color, ISO Limit, Exposure and more. Waterproof to 131’ (40m) with 12MP photos at 30 frames per second and improved audio.
Now Make it look Better With The Ribcage from Back-Bone
http://www.back-bone.ca/ – $249.00
Do it yourself and save some coin! Install Back-Bone’s custom, all aluminum Ribcage mod kit on any GoPro Hero4 Silver or Black (not included). Your camera will then be able to take micro M12, CS-Mount or C-Mount lenses. Attach almost any other type of lens with optional C-Mount adapters!
Add An Amazing Lens that Capture great light and nice viewing Angles
The CS-Mount 4 to 12mm Varifocal Megapixel Lens from Arecont Vision can be used with the Arecont Vision MegaVideo Series cameras with 1/2″ format sensors. The lens is IR corrected and features a manual iris.
Crop Factor of the GoPro is 5.8 = 23mm – 70mm Basically this just means that since the Sensor on the GoPro is only 6.17mm VS a 35mm sensor the image gets magnified by the lens by the crop factor rating. so the 4mm lens is equal to 4mm x 5.8’crop’ which is now a 23mm lens.
Not to mention the F-stop is 1.4 VS the Gopro 2.8 You will notice significantly better low light performance! Literally twice as bright.
Now Lets Capture Some Great Audio
The RØDE VideoMic GO is compact and light weight by design and delivers clear, crisp, directional audio with incredible ease of use. Its tight pickup area focuses directly in front of the microphone and reduces other surrounding sounds, ensuring that your subject is isolated from distracting background noise.
Don’t Forget the GoPro Mic adapter for $20 from GoPro
If You Are Recording Outside get a Wind-Sock
